Hello, readers! Here is a list of some of my favorite books for children who can read chapter books or middle grade levels. Please check them out. I believe all of them have something children can relate to in real life, but are still entertaining. I'll be adding more, so please check back periodically for updates.
"James and the Giant Peach" by Roald Dahl - my favorite book of all time.
"The Invisible Man" by H.G. Wells - ages 12 and up - or for very advanced readers. Barnes and Noble bookstore has a version with footnotes to assist with some of the terms.
"The Kid in the Red Jacket" by Barbara Park - very funny.
"Loser" by Jerry Spinelli. I just read this recently. Great book! I love Zinkoff's character.
PUMPKIN SAYS...
Boys and girls, Pumpkin is my fourteen-year old cat. While I am hard at work, she has the run of the house. Occasionally, she has been known to get on the computer when she isn't napping on the back of the sofa. Here are a few things Pumpkin took the liberty of adding to my site.

"Computer? What computer? I've been playing with my rat all day, thank you."
Pumpkin's Advice for Better Living
"Never accept candy from a dog."
"Buy your cats lots of toys."
"Play with us, and feed us a treat every now and then."
"Would it kill you to share some of that chicken on your plate with me?"
"PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE clean my litter box."
"Forget about Santa Claus, I'M watching you."
"Kids, be careful who you talk to on the internet and which sites you look at. If you aren't sure if something is safe, please ask Mom or Dad."
"I am very proud of my owner/mother. Her book is very good, but she forgot to put any cats in her stories."
(Sorry, Pumpkin! Maybe next time.)
